Rob Holding is delighted with Celtic’s decision to transfer a player on £64,615-a-week salary

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have signed Former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool’s Nathaniel Phillips in the summer transfer window.

The £64,615 per week (Spotrac) defender joined the Hoops on loan from Liverpool until January 2024.

Arsenal centre-back Holding is among those who have wished the 26-year-old Celtic centre-back well.

Holding wrote: “Keemon!! All the best buddy 🍀”

Phillips is a very good defender but he didn’t get enough chances in the Liverpool first team.

When the 26-year-old played for Jurgen Klopp’s team he was very good and did a good job.

Phillips is a very capable defender who knows how to defend and not play around.

Celtic is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

The Hoops are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title again this season and will also feature in the UEFA Champions League.

Phillips has played in Europe with Liverpool and that will come in handy for Celtic.

The defender had his best season for Liverpool in the 2020/21 season as he made 20 appearances including three in the Champions League.

Phillips then got his chance due to injury problems.

However, Celtic should have faith in the defender.

Phillips has made 19 Premier League appearances so far in his career.

The 26-year-old has scored one goal, provided one assist and kept seven clean sheets in those games.
