‘Rich Girls’ star Jaime Gleicher accuses attorney Roger Haber of rape

According to a shocking new lawsuit, a high-profile entertainment attorney is said to have raped a rising reality TV star and taken her virginity after dousing her with cocaine at his Tribeca apartment.
Jaime Gleicher, who broke onto the reality TV scene in 2003 as the star of MTV’s “Rich Girls,” sued attorney Roger Haber in federal court in Manhattan this week, alleging he sexually assaulted her after implying he could know her Help career in 2004.
The same, 37, is suing under the Adult Survivors Act, which gave sexual assault accusers a one-year window to sue their alleged attackers, regardless of how long ago the alleged abuse occurred.
Same claims she was just 19 when she first met Haber at the downtown hotspot Butter, and she knew he had represented some of her friends in the entertainment industry.
Haber — who has revisited James Galdolfini and Fred Gwynne, as well as former Miss America Cara Mund, among others — invited Gleicher and her friends to his apartment, where he offered them cocaine, Gleicher alleges in court filings.

Gleicher felt pressured to take the drugs, “in large part because she recognized that Mr. Haber could have a tremendous impact on her career,” the lawsuit says.
Same friends left, leaving her alone with Haber, who then pressured her to kiss him and take off her shirt, court records say. But she became unsure and asked the lawyer for a blanket to cover herself with.
Same claims she “specifically” told Haber she would not have sex with him and escorted the attorney into the bedroom to get a blanket, where she again reiterated that she would not have sex.

“Ms. Gleicher had never had sexual intercourse at the time,” the lawsuit says. “As discussed on national television in an episode of ‘Rich Girls’ about Ms. Gleicher’s prom night, Ms. Gleicher was waiting to have sexual intercourse for the first time with someone with whom she had a serious romantic relationship.”
Gleicher, thinking Haber understood her ultimatum, went to bed but woke up to Haber lying on top of her and raping her, the suit alleges.
Gleicher said she begged Haber to stop and was eventually able to get away from him, running to a nearby bathroom and locking herself inside.
She then tried to leave the apartment, but Haber allegedly blocked her exit and told her, “You’re not allowed to leave until you’ve finished with me,” before sexually assaulting her again, according to the lawsuit.
Once home, Gleicher went with her mother to Mount Sinai West, where she was examined, DNA evidence was taken and a psychiatrist was told about the alleged rape.
She refused to report the incident to the police at the time. “Ultimately, Ms. Gleicher decided not to involve law enforcement agencies. … She feared that she would be forever identified and shamed as a rape victim and that her writing career would be ruined,” the lawsuit reads.
Same later ignored a call from Haber claiming he wanted to “check in” and that she hasn’t seen him since, according to the lawsuit.

“She also understood that Mr. Haber was making a significant impact in the entertainment industry she hoped to break into, and so chose the path of silence for many years,” the suit added.
The attack left her traumatized, and Gleicher struggled with drug addiction and eating disorders and went through multiple rehab programs, according to her lawsuit. Today she works as a social worker and therapist in New York.
Haber, who boasts on Twitter that he’s a father of five, runs Artists Financial Management, a firm that advises students, artists and other creative professionals in West Hollywood.
“Mr. Haber categorically denies the baseless allegations in the lawsuit and looks forward to the facts of the lawsuit coming to light,” said Carrie Cohen, Haber’s attorney.
