Reports: Leeds United are looking to sign a ‘top-notch’ player on the recommendation of James Maddison

Leeds United are considering signing Leicester City left-back Luke Thomas after an alleged recommendation from James Maddison.
Leicester City talent Luke Thomas is seen as a target for Leeds United in the final days of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to the Daily Mailwho claim Leeds have now asked for a deal to loan Thomas out for this season.
Leicester have so far been reluctant to let Thomas into a direct rival, leaving Leeds with plenty of work to do.
Both Leeds and Leicester were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season and are aiming to return to the top flight.
Daniel Farke is reportedly on the hunt for “four or five new signings” this week, with a new left-back his main target.
Sam Byram has played at left-back despite being right-footed by trade and a more natural left-back is being sought.
the athlete Add that Leeds have now made two approaches for Thomas this summer but Leicester have yet to change their minds.
It sounds like that goal will be difficult to follow through this week and Leeds could be tempted to look elsewhere in search of another target for the left-back.

James Maddison was involved in Leeds United’s pursuit of Luke Thomas
Thomas has not played for Leicester this season and the 22-year-old is due to move away from King Power Stadium on loan.
It may well be that Leicester would prefer to send Thomas to another Championship club who are not seen as direct rivals.
However, Leeds will be hopeful and Tottenham Hotspur playmaker James Maddison is believed to have played a role in the interest.

TalkSPORT reporter Jason Bourne claims Maddison recommended Thomas to his former boss, Farke.
Maddison played under Farke at Norwich City and then played alongside Thomas at Leicester before leaving this summer.
Maddison appears to value Thomas very highly and believes he can do a great job for Farke at Leeds.
Maddison has previously hailed Thomas as a “top notch player.” Players, so this recommendation might not come as a huge surprise.
It all depends on Leicester’s stance, however, with the Foxes potentially dashed Leeds’ hopes before the transfer deadline.
