Aston Villa are eyeing a deal to sign Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares as they seek additional coverage for left-back.
Unai Emery is now looking to ambush Arsenal while Nuno Tavares will be eyed for a move to Aston Villa.
This is acc iNewswho claim Villa are currently considering a loan deal to sign Tavares.
Villa are on the hunt for a new left-back as Alex Moreno is injured and Lucas Digne is wanted in Saudi Arabia.
Marcos Acuna has become the top target for Emery and Villa but despite personal terms there is no deal with Sevilla.
Villa is currently evaluating possible alternatives in the event that they cannot strike a deal with Acuna.
Tavares is one of them and Villa are considering a one-year loan with an option to buy the Portuguese left-back.
Tavares is back at Arsenal this summer after being loaned out to French club Marseille last season.
However, he has no future under Mikel Arteta and Arsenal were keen to sign him this summer.

Tavares is believed to have been on a permanent £13million deal to join Forest.

German sides Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg are apparently interested and have inquired about Tavares’ signing.
That means Villa won’t have it all on their own, but a move to Villa Park will certainly please Tavares.
Emery impressively advances Villa and can give Tavares a chance to play in the Europa Conference League.
Tavares hasn’t really made an impact in the Premier League but Villa can offer that chance – if they pull Acuna away.
