Report: Tottenham Hotspur player now expected to leave once Luka Vuskovic signs

Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Luka Vuskovic and the deal could pave the way for Ivan Perisic in the other direction.

Thanks to Luka Vuskovic’s move to Tottenham Hotspur, Hajduk Split may now be able to bring Ivan Perisic back to the club.

This is according to Tportal in Croatia, who claim that Vuskovic joining Tottenham “definitely” opens the door for Perisic to go in the other direction.

It is said that the transfer fee paid by Tottenham – the exact figure of which is currently unclear – is “very important” for Hajduk.

That’s because the Croatian side could then sign Spurs winger Perisic, with that move becoming ‘increasingly realistic’.

The report adds that Perisic is likely to become a Hajduk player in the first days of the January transfer window and return to Croatia as part of the Vuskovic deal.

Ivan Perisic may be facing an emotional return to Hajduk Split

There have been rumors for a long time about a move back to Hajduk.

Gianluca Di Marzio from Sky Italia reported in July that Perisic was ready to leave Tottenham and return to the Croatian team.

This never happened, but Hajduk expressed his interest quite publicly.

Hajduk sports director Mindaugas Nikolicius stated in July that the club was monitoring Perisic’s situation and claimed that he wanted to play for Hajduk.

This isn’t a huge surprise; Born in Split, Perisic supported Hajduk as a child and even played in the club’s youth team.

Perisic has become a huge success story, playing for clubs such as Club Brugge, Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and now Spurs.

An emotional homecoming definitely makes sense and it looks like Tottenham have now paved the way for a deal.

Tottenham are getting a child prodigy in Luka Vuskovic

Releasing a 34-year-old in exchange for a 16-year-old prodigy sounds like a pretty good deal for Tottenham.

Vuskovic has already made a number of first-team appearances for Hajduk and has developed into a top young talent in Croatia.

The 1.80 meter tall defender is secured for a great future and can move to Tottenham from 2025, when he turns 18.

Like Perisic, Vuskovic comes from Split and is now ready to take his first steps outside of Croatia.

Vuskovic could well become a star at Tottenham, but no one would be surprised if he also ended his career at Hajduk.
