Report: The club have now contacted Arsenal over the signing of a £45m player, with Arteta saying he wants to stay

Galatasaray have contacted Arsenal about the signing of midfielder Thomas Partey this summer.

This is acc Takvim.

The Turkish outlet claim that Galatasaray is interested in Thomas Partey and is in touch with Arsenal about a possible deal.

Back in July, Mikel Arteta explained that the 30-year-old, who owns the Gunners Signed from Atlético Madrid for £45mHe wanted to stay in the Emirates.

“Every time I spoke to him he said he wanted to stay with us,” the Arsenal manager was quoted as saying by BBC Sports. “There’s nothing at all.”

Mikel Arteta still has action for Thomas Partey

While Arsenal have signed Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, Partey still appears to be in his boss’ plans.

The Ghana international started in Arsenal’s first game of the season last weekend, helping his side at right-back in a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

He was also on the team for the Community Shield triumph over Manchester City so is definitely not over the top.

However, Partey may not want to play at right-back in the long run, although there’s no guarantee he’ll start in midfield.

If you think about it, moving somewhere else has its appeal. However, based on what former Atletico star Arteta has said in the past, it appears he is looking to stay in north London this summer.

It would be a boost for Arsenal, who need options in midfield to be in contention for the Premier League title again and progress deep in the Champions League.

The Gunners have significantly improved their roster strength with the signings of Rice, Havertz, Jurrien Timber and David Raya. It could be the key to overtaking Manchester City so selling Partey or any other player who can still come and do a job for the side could be a step backwards.

The Post report: The club have now contacted Arsenal over the signing of a £45m player. Arteta said he wants to stay, first appeared on HITC.
