According to The Athletic, Tottenham head coach Postecoglou and the club have decided to appoint Son as Spurs’ new captain.

The £192,000 per week (SalarySport) Forward is the captain of South Korea.

Tottenham have also appointed James Maddison and Cristian Romero as vice-captains.

England international Maddison only joined Tottenham from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Romero is a very experienced defender, having won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with Argentina.

We believe Tottenham Hotspur made the right decision when it came to Son Heung-min.

Son is a very senior figure on the team and one of the first names on the squad list when fit and available.

The 31-year-old is a very mature footballer who keeps his cool and plays with a smile on his face.

The South Korean star makes the right decisions on the pitch and has a good temper.

However, Son needs to do better this season than last season.

The forward scored ten goals and provided six assists in 33 Premier League starts for Tottenham last season.

Spurs failed to make the top four in the Premier League.

With Kane gone, Tottenham need to compensate for the striker’s goals.

My son needs to start scoring goals for fun again.

In the 2021/22 season, Son scored 23 goals in the Premier League and in the 2020/21 season the forward netted 17 times in the league.
