Report: Liverpool have been searching for £26m target for 18 months, president confirms Reds talks

Liverpool have been searching for Fluminense and Brazilian midfielder Andre Tridade for around 18 months as the Premier League giants consider a move in the new year.
That’s according to the Liverpool EchoAndre Trindade could be the solution to Jurgen Klopp’s number six problem.
Alexis Mac Allister continues to look like a square peg in a round hole. His defensive deficiencies were evident in the position Fabinho captured before his departure to Saudi Arabia, while Liverpool’s pursuit of Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia was thwarted over the summer.

Klopp could therefore cast his net a little wider to find a long-term replacement for Fabinho in January. The Fluminense president has already confirmed Liverpool’s interest in Andre Trindade. Sources on Merseyside suggest the 22-year-old ball-winner has been on the club’s watchlist since the start of 2022.
