Report: Daniel Levy was keen to ditch the £85k-a-week Tottenham player

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy reportedly wanted to sack Eric Dier on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Accordingly the athleteTottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy was hoping to sign Eric Dier on summer transfer deadline day.
According to the report, Dier, who can play both as a defender and as a midfielder, has been offered to Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest.
However, no move occurred, and the £85,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender is still at Tottenham.
Dier is out of contract with Spurs at the end of next season.
No future for Eric Dier at Tottenham Hotspur
We don’t think Eric Dier has a long-term future at Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou clearly doesn’t stand in Dier’s way.

And his contract with Spurs expires at the end of next season.
It’s hard to imagine the 29-year-old getting much playing time in the coming weeks and months.
We won’t be surprised if Postecoglou doesn’t even include Dier in his final Premier League squad.
Dier has made 270 appearances in the Premier League in his career so far.
The Englishman has scored 12 goals, provided nine assists and kept 86 clean sheets in those games.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham try to sell Dier again in January 2024.
