Report: Club booked private jet for £13m Tottenham ace but he rejected move

Genoa had reportedly booked a private jet for Tanguy Ndombele before the Premier League underdog got cold feet from Tottenham Hotspur over a potential move to Serie A.

While few Tottenham Hotspur fans could begrudge Harry Kane a chance at the Champions League, it’s fair to say Tanguy Ndombele has done far less to suggest he deserves to be at the top of Europe’s lobster and caviar to eat.

However, Ndombele ensured he will face Kane and co in the group stages by securing a £13million deal to join Turkish giants Galatasaray alongside Davinson Sanchez last week.

Tanguy Ndombele leaves Tottenham for Türkiye

Ndombele was one of the most disappointing signings in recent Premier League history and was initially close to joining Genoa instead.

La Republica The Serie A club had reportedly even chartered a private jet to pick up the moody Frenchman from London, but Ndombele told Genoa bosses at the last minute that he had little interest in joining a club that was unable to do so to offer UCL football.

The Rossoblu encountered similar problems when trying Recruit Donny van de Beek also from Manchester United. At least Spurs managed to get Ndombele out the door late. That’s more than you can say Red Devil; Talks over a deal that would have seen Van de Beek join Ndombele in Turkey fell through, much to United’s frustration.

Spurs’ flop brings the move he wanted

In addition to Bayern Munich, Ndombele’s new employers will also meet Ten Hag’s Red Devil and Danish club FC Copenhagen in the Champions League, with the competition starting next week.

Both Ndombele and Sanchez will be hoping to make their Galatasaray debuts in Saturday’s Super Lig clash against Samunspor. However, Gala coach Okan Buruk asks for patience with his new midfielder.
