Saturday’s high will hit a low of 70. That means we’ll likely break the current record of 69° for December 11 set in 1979.
While this record warmth is certainly noticeable, the intense evening storms are still worth keeping an eye on, especially this time of year when we’re better prepared for snow than we are at this time of year. storm like spring.
Saturday’s very warm temperatures played a big part in the dynamic weather we’ve been expecting.
Things will be windy even before Wind Advice goes into effect, with southwesterly winds around 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph.
A cold front and related storms are forecast to follow through central Maryland from 4 to 8 p.m
With mild air in place and cold air in, the collision of the two will trigger those strong winds.
The Hurricane Forecast Center has placed central and northern Maryland at mild risk for severe storms.
That means that among the scattered storms we are expecting, an isolated storm could turn out to be severe.
The sky will clear quickly in the foreground, leading to a significantly brighter and cooler Sunday.
