Reba McEntire only knows 1 old fashioned way to contact Dolly Parton

Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton teamed up for a duet in 2021. And McEntire shared that she contacted Parton’s people to arrange this iconic pairing. But she also revealed that “the only way to reach the country music icon” is to use a retro method of communication.
What is Parton’s favorite way to receive correspondence about international business? And what else did McEntire say about the chance to work with one of her role models?
Reba McEntire wanted to get in touch to sing a duet with Dolly Parton
Although McEntire and Parton have been friends for decades, they did not record a song together until recent years. And McEntire said it upset her a little that they sang with so many other people but never actually recorded together.
So in 2021 Parton joined McEntire on her album Revitalized, reshuffled, revisited for an updated version of their ’90s hit. “Does he Love You.”
Before that, however, McEntire used a somewhat unique method to reach Parton and ask for a duet.

McEntire to Apple Music Country Southern Accents Radio She didn’t use a phone to contact Parton about their 2021 duet. “Well, you don’t call Dolly. They fax her,” she explained. “Fax your people and let your people talk to their people.”
She shared, “It’s the only way to reach her.”
According to McEntire, not even Parton’s old pal Kenny Rogers had her phone number. Faxing Parton is a rule that people in the industry understand, she said. So, as was customary, she had her people send a fax and she asked if Parton would like to go on a duet with her.
Luckily for McEntire and the fans, Parton agreed. The “Fancy” singer said she couldn’t stop listening to Parton’s part on the song in the studio.
Dolly Parton is ‘unlike anyone’ Reba McEntire has met
In Reba: My story, McEntire recounted the date she first saw Parton in person. She debuted on the Grand Ole Opry in 1977 and Parton’s arrival meant her performance was cut from two songs to one. But she said she gave up both songs for a chance to meet the country music idol.
McEntire also wrote that Parton was one of many country music stars to reach her after the plane crash that killed seven members of her band, as well as their tour manager and two pilots.
At McEntire Southern Accents Radio In the interview, she gushed even more about Parton, saying the “Jolene” singer is the “warmest person” she’s ever met. And she added that she knows many generous people. But Parton’s devotion to nature strikes McEntire so much that she said she’s like “God’s little sister” and an “angel on earth.”
“Dolly is unlike anyone I’ve ever met…in business or not,” she explained.
