Razzies “discuss” the worst Bruce Willis performance award

Bruce Willis’ family announced Wednesday that a Diagnosis with the brain disorder aphasia is effectively end his career – so it seems inappropriate to make him the subject of bad movie jokes.
However, the Golden Raspberry Awards (aka the Razzies) have announced that they are “To be discussed” Awarding the Snarky to the 67-year-old “WORST PERFORMANCE BY BRUCE WILLIS IN A MOVIE OF 2021” despite his illness.
The Razzies are known for being the opposite of the Oscars – they hand out figurines for the worst performances of the year. The “Die Hard” legend is nominated eight times – for eight different films releasing in 2021 – in his own category.
The anti-awards body has begun following the revelation of the ‘Pulp Fiction’ actor’s devastating diagnosis tweeted out: “I’m really sorry for the raids #Bruce Willis diagnosed condition. Maybe that explains why he wanted to go out with a bang in 2021. Our best wishes to Bruce and his family.”
The organization’s apparent decision not to immediately cancel the award category drew widespread backlash on social media, with one commenter To write: “Maybe you should delete your account instead, and while you’re at it, cancel your smug and naïve rewards program.”
Another Twitter critic added“You really shouldn’t have said anything,” while another social media watchdog interfered with a simple “f——–k you.”
Meanwhile, Razzies co-founders are John JB Wilson and Mo Murphy said IndieWire“We are really sorry to hear about Willis’s diagnosis, which we were unaware of until the story broke this morning.”
They continued in their statement, “In Willis’ defense, perhaps his sales reps shouldn’t have let him do such a high volume of work in such a short amount of time. We offer our best wishes to Bruce and his family.”
However, just a short time later, Wilson released another statement to the outlet: “We are still discussing how to handle the news of Willis’ diagnosis and will get back to you.”

He also explained that the Razzies were unaware of Willis’ condition at the time of the nominations and they, along with the rest of the world, first learned of his diagnosis on March 30.

Aphasia is a medical condition that can affect a person’s ability to speak, write, and understand language, both verbal and written.
The “Moonlighting” actor’s family posted the same statement about Willis’ condition on each of their Instagram accounts.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, we wanted to share as a family that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia which is affecting his cognitive abilities,” the caption reads, adding that he “will be stepping away.” from the career that meant so much to him.”
“This is a truly challenging time for our family and we are so grateful for your continued love, compassion and support,” the statement continued. “We’re going through this as a strong family unit and wanted to include his fans because we know how much he means to you, just as you mean to him.”
