Rat wreaks havoc at New York City dog park in hilarious viral video

It’s a world out there eaten by dogs.
A boisterous rodent found its way into the midst of a fido frenzy and wreaked havoc at Manhattan’s Tompkins Square Dog Run.
As captured in a now viral video posted on TwitterTheir owners desperately tried to contain their canines, which quickly chased, surrounded and chewed on the rat.
The clip – which has amassed nearly 6 million views as of Thursday afternoon – is set to Blossom Dearie’s jazzy tune “They Say It’s Spring” as the pups kicked up dust.
While many failed to catch the rat, a dog later revealed to be a 4-year-old Jindo mix named Zoey closed his jaws on the rodent – shaking his head before tossing the rat into the air.
Her owner, who was initially dubbed a “grey sweatshirt guy” in the comments, switch off quicklyHe pointed at Zoey as if to say, “Stay back!”


The folks on the Twitter thread were quick to jump in make jokes about the wild rat.
“You know it’s a New York rat because it fought back. Ready to risk everything” wrote one person.
“I can’t believe these dog owners didn’t allow their dogs to live a dream.” said another.
“What are all those dogs doing in the rat park!!???” someone else joked.


“He just finished filming Ratatouille Goes To New York.” joked another.
While other users worried about the health of the precious pooches – assuming the rat was carrying diseases could make the dogs sick – Zoey’s owner, identified only as Jonah, assured the internet that his pup is in good health. He took a picture of him and Zoey with a sign that read, “Zoey didn’t get sick!”
