Raquel Welch’s cause of death revealed

Raquel Welch died of cardiac arrest.

The former sex symbol died in February at the age of 82 and was also battling Alzheimer’s at the time of her death, according to Welch’s death certificate obtained by TMZ.

The two-time Golden Globe nominee was pronounced dead at 2:25 a.m. on Feb. 15 and has since been cremated, the outlet added.

The “Fantastic Voyage” actress had never previously revealed her Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

The Post has reached out to Welch’s estate for comment.

Welch rose to fame after starring in the hit 1966 film One Million Years BC – which later earned her sex symbol status.

But filming the movie was far less fun, she said decades later, revealing that she actually “almost died” after contracting tonsillitis after being forced to wear a skimpy bikini in inclement weather.

“I was on so much penicillin while I was wearing the fur bikini that I almost died,” she told Fox News in 2017. jump in the elevator and stuff.”

“And I hardly got there. They had to shoot me with an antidote. Otherwise I would have died. It was a really tough shoot, man. Really rough. And then I came to London and everyone knew who I was,” she added.

Throughout her glittering career, Welch has been nominated for a number of prestigious awards, including the Golden Globes – earning her a massive win in 1974.

She won Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for her role as Constance de Bonacieux in 1974’s The Three Musketeers.

And her off-screen success was seemingly reflected when she was named one of the “100 Sexiest Stars in Motion Picture History” by Empire magazine in 1995.

Additionally, Playboy ranked her #3 on its list of “100 Sexiest Stars of the 20th Century.”

The ‘Legally Blonde’ actress, who spent her final years in solitude, has married four times in her life.

She married her high school sweetheart James Welch in 1959 and welcomed two before their divorce in 1964.

She later married Patrick Curtis in 1967 before divorcing in 1972 and tied the knot with André Weinfeld in 1980 before separating a decade later.

Her last marriage was to Richard Palmer, which lasted from 1999 to 2004.

Welch is survived by their son Damon, 63, and daughter Tahnee, 61.
