RAPPER Rod Wave has fans worried with troubling lyrics about suicide following the release of new track Nirvana – but the star confirmed to fans he’s safe.
Rod left fans in awe after dropping Nirvana, his new troubling song alluding to suicide, and then deleting his social media accounts.
After Rod released Nirvana, he deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
In the song, the lyrics allude to ending one’s own life and battling depression.
Heartbreaking lyrics: “If you’re hearing this it’s too late / I’ve been writing this since Tuesday, today Friday, which means the end of the world tomorrow / Trying to fight the pain but it ate me / Sad to say I lost a fight against my mind / You should be happy for me homie, no more suffering’/ We all have a day I guess we will see you then / I hope that heaven is real and one day we can reunite / And don’t cry for me I have lived a wonderful life.”
The most troubling part for fans is the fact that he calls today, Saturday, “the end of the world.”
When the song was released, Rod went missing on social media and fans feared the worst.
Based on HotNewHipHop, one fan tweeted: “You if you are a true Rod Wave fan just take a minute and say a prayer for him.”
Another posted: “Rod Wave deactivated all his social networks then he dropped a song saying he was about to shut down.
“I hope he won’t do it, it was people like him that kept me and probably hella the others didn’t go.”
A third wrote, “Dawg please tell me Rod Wave was great after that song,” while a fourth said, “I’m really worried about this man.”
However, a Thursday article posted: “Rod Wave’s Nirvana is deep… mental health is no joke. Hope Rod Wave is well and is getting the help he needs.”
The rapper has since reactivated his Instagram to tell fans he was fine as he wrote: “Sorry for scaring you. I’m so good… Have fun working on the album. my new…love you guys!doe dat is definitely a prevention song.”
Rod insists he intends to write this song to prevent suicide and not to worry fans.
He deleted Nirvana after it caused the opposite reaction to what the artist wanted.
LOYAL FAN SMALL
In early November, Rod released another song titled By Your Side and its music video on Instagram.
He captioned the release: “…Know my music suits some people.”
Rod continued: “I’m going through a tough period on my own so I’m down from time to time, but even after I’ve left, I’ll always be with you most definitely.”

After thousands of fans turned up to see Rod perform live this fall, many flocked to his Instagram when they heard the news about Nirvana.
