RADIO 1 host Matt Edmonson told how he was “through hell and back” welcoming his second child into the world.
The hilarious broadcaster, 35, opened up about the birth of his second baby girl as he praised his “wonderful and brave” wife and NHS staff.
The cute image shows her smiling sweetly in her sleep as she cuddled up in a striped toddler and multicolored blanket, and tucked away in a knitted hat.
Besides, Matt wrote: “Introducing Willow Mae Edmondson.
“It’s been a week… We’ve been to hell and back, but baby Willow is still here and she has magic.
“Bryony has been brilliant and indescribably brave, now he is doing well and resting.
“We’re at home and safe and in hiding for a few weeks.”
Talking about his first child, the comedian added: “Ivy is in love.
“Thank you to the outstanding NHS staff at Lewisham Hospital who got us through it all – it took a lot, but worked so hard that we didn’t get hurt.”
Matt’s celebrity friends were quick to react, with BBC broadcaster Laura Whitmore writing: “Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️xxx.”
His close friend and co-host Mollie wrote, “Congrats guys, she’s gorgeous! ❤️,” while broadcaster Dermot O’Leary commented, “Ah, Congratulations! bud x”
NEWS FOR HAPPY BABY
The latest addition to their family has come a bit late, after Matt previously revealed it Their baby was born on Christmas day.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, he said: “Holly and Ivy had a great Christmas. |”
Speaking of his first child, he added: “Ivy arrived three and a half weeks early, as I was getting ready to shoot The Xtra Factor.
“So I assume the event will come on Christmas Day, but it could happen any time.”
He and his other half Bryony got married in 2013.
At the time of our chat last year, in his usual joking manner, he added: “It’s a girl!
“We are still negotiating the name.
“I mixed my list for baby names and dog names and now I can’t remember what is for a child and what is for a dog.
“We’ve got a dog but you always have to have a list of potential names to watch out for.”
‘LIVE CHANGING DIAGNOSTICS’
The announcer’s incredible news came after he opened up about his cyclothymia diagnosis last month, called the moment he was diagnosed “life-changing”.
Matt first revealed details of his mental and behavioral disorder in January, but recently wrote a lengthy Instagram post about the condition.
Cyclothymia is often a lesser-known condition that can cause severe mood swings and is often associated with bipolar disorder.
The star told his fans on November 2 that he went through “a period where I felt extremely low”.
“After years of struggling, just getting the label Cyclothymia gave me feels like my life has changed,” he writes.
“It helped me understand that if I could spot myself ‘going up’ or ‘going down,’ I could do something to stop it.”
Matt concluded: “I plan to chat a little more about Cyclothymia in the future, I will keep posting for you.”
