Joycelyn Savage, R. Kelly’s longtime partner — and now rumored fiancé — is set to release a book about her relationship with the troubled R&B star.
In an email to The Post, Savage, 26, confirmed the book will be called Love and Joy of Robert and will be “released Saturday.”
“All I can say is that it’s about Robert, the beginning of my life in Robert’s shadow, where things started to go and where they are going now,” she wrote of the book’s content.
Savage would neither confirm nor deny to the Post that she and Kelly — whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly — are engaged.
“Everything is answered in my book,” she said.
Savage did not disclose whether the book would be self-published or by an established publisher, or where the tome would be available.
In documents obtained by The Post in July, Savage wrote a letter to a federal judge in which she identified herself as Kelly’s fiancee and asked for a lighter sentence for his decades-long sexual abuse of women and underage girls and boys. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in the sex trafficking case.
“I am writing this letter to support Robert ahead of his sentencing so that I can explain to the court that I am not the victim the government has portrayed me as.”
She went on to call him an “all round incredible person” and “not the monster the government has described him as.
“Robert and I are very much in love and it breaks my heart that the government created a narrative that I’m a victim,” Savage continued. “I am a grown woman and can speak for myself, which is why I wanted to submit this letter to the court.
“He’s a great man with a big heart and deserves to be home with his loved ones who are ready to support him,” she concluded.
Savage would be Kelly’s third marriage. In 1994, he secretly married then-15-year-old Aaliyah, who later died in a plane crash in 2001. Her illegal marriage was annulled. He was later married to choreographer Andrea Kelly from 1996 to 2009 and the couple had three children.
Savage’s parents Jonjelyn and Timothy have publicly asked for their daughter to leave Kelly. They were interviewed extensively in the 2020 six-part investigative series, Surviving R. Kelly: Part II: The Reckoning.
In 2019, Savage posted on Instagram that she would be telling “my story,” adding in a follow-up post, “I have partnered with @Patreon where I will be posting chapters of my story daily. Things I Will Reveal Who Was Sworn Not to See the Day of Light – by NDA. I risk my life for many others.”
In her Patreon posts, Savage admitted to being manipulated by Kelly, according to Essence.
She reportedly spoke about meeting Kelly when she was 15, at a concert, and later dropping out of college to live with him. She claimed Kelly would tell her, “Baby, you’re going to be the next Aaliyah.” However, her account was removed from Patreon.
In July, Kelly was convicted of nine charges, including racketeering and violating the Mann Act, which bans the interstate transportation of women and girls for “immoral purposes.”
