R. Kelly has become engaged to alleged victim Joycelyn Savage

R. Kelly and one of his alleged victims, Joycelyn Savage, are engaged, according to court documents obtained by The Post.

Savage, 26, wrote a letter to the federal judge identifying herself as Robert Kelly’s fiancee and asking for a lighter sentence for Kelly over his decades-long sexual abuse of women and underage girls and boys.

“I am writing this letter to support Robert ahead of his sentencing so that I can explain to the court that I am not the victim the government has portrayed me as.”

She went on to call him an “all round incredible person” and “not the monster the government has described him as”.

“Robert and I are very much in love and it breaks my heart that the government has created a narrative that I am a victim. I am a grown woman and I can speak for myself, which is why I wanted to submit this letter to the court.”

“He’s a great man with a big heart and deserves to be home with his loved ones who are ready to support him,” she concluded.

Kelly, 55, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for his crimes.

Savage’s parents, Jonjelyn and Timothy Savage, have publicly asked for their daughter to leave Kelly.

Gerald Griggs, Savage’s parents’ attorney, told TMZ that they were unaware of their daughter’s future union and that she never mentioned the idea of ​​marrying Kelly.

Griggs said her parents “strongly doubt” the couple is engaged and would love to reconnect with her to hear the full story. However, they haven’t spoken to Savage since she left to live with Kelly.

Savage’s parents find it odd that she wrote the judge a letter instead of testifying under oath, he said.

The Post reached out to Griggs for comment.

In 2019, Savage posted on Instagram that she would be telling “my story,” adding in a follow-up post, “I have partnered with @Patreon where I will be posting chapters of my story daily. Things I Will Reveal Who Was Sworn Not to See the Day of Light – by NDA. I risk my life for many others.”

In her Patreon posts, Savage admitted to being manipulated by Kelly, according to Essence. She spoke about meeting Kelly when she was 15, at a concert, and later dropping out of college to live with him. She said Kelly would tell her, “Baby, you’re going to be the next Aaliyah.”

However, on Monday, her account was removed from Patreon.
