Luckily there is only one double letter, although there is an unusual consonant used three times in the answer. It’s difficult to determine which of the four words is the most difficult, but we’ll take the word on the top right. As a clue, it describes a sick condition of a typical canine animal. What is Quordle Answer 161? (July 4, 2022)
The Quordle Answer 161 is:
Since “MANGY” has two unusual consonants, the “M” and the “G”, it could give you the most problems. Not many five-letter words end in “-GY” and such do tend to have the “-GGY” suffix instead. “SUMAC” has similar difficulties given the consonants “M” and “C” and how unusual the word is. If you don’t know much about Middle Eastern plants or spices, you might miss “SUMAC” as it’s typically used as a reddish-purple spice powder in hummus or other dips.
The “M” consonant appears again in “REMIT,” a formal word that is also not commonly used. The hardest part is figuring out exactly where the common letters go, as there are many ways the “R”, “E”, “I” and “T” can be arranged within a word. With any luck, “MANGY” or “SUMAC” might give you a clue, especially “SUMAC” since the “M” is the third in both. “TITHE” has the only double letter, although you probably won’t need too much guts to guess the second “T” since “?ITHE” and “TI?HE” don’t have many other possibilities.
