The Queen will leave Sandringham Estate on Wednesday and staff are busy preparing the rooms.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince WilliamKate and their children, Prince Andrew and daughters Beatrice and Eugenie and the family Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex are expected to join her.

Cousins, nephews and nieces have also been invited and will stay in the main house or properties on the spacious Norfolk estate.

A source said: “The Queen wants as many family members there as possible.”

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward said: “Since 1988 they have celebrated at Sandringham and before that at Windsor.

“It’s been an important location for the Queen this year because it’s where her father passed away 70 years ago and where he spent his final weeks photographing.

“Also, without Philip by her side this year, it’s important for her to be there with her family and keep herself a sense of normalcy.

“She must be tired of Windsor. It’s pretty murky surrounded by gray brick and she’s been there for so long that she’ll want to get out of here. “

Sources say Covid could also potentially prevent royals from meeting the wise after the Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene’s Church in Sandringham.
