SERIOUSly Come Dancing John Whaite has been forced to withdraw from the tour after being put off sleep with the coronavirus.
The 32-year-old Bake Off star took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news.
John – who competed in the 19th series of the BBC dance competition last year – will not be performing in Glasgow later tonight.
Speaking from his hotel room on his bed, John told his 309k followers: “I’m afraid a little bit of bad news.
“A side current was positive again this morning so now I have to sit here in this charming captivity until the PCR results come back.”
Despite making this mistake, the TV star has not yet recovered from his symptoms, so he hopes to return to the stage soon.
He continued: “I hope they come back negative because I’m feeling fine! I’ve had it three times, I’ve had coronavirus in the summer. So I hope it’s just a false positive.
“That means of course I won’t be able to perform today or tonight in Glasgow so I’m very very very very sorry if anyone was hoping to see me rocking on the dance floor today because I just won’t be there shaking it.”
John and dance partner Johannes Radebe place second behind EastEnders stars Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice in 2021.
The pair have performed on the show’s tour since it began last month.
The actors traveled the UK to major cities to show off their best dance moves.
They have yet to perform in Nottingham and will wrap up the tour in London.
The great lineup includes Rose and Giovanni, Sara Davies and Aljaž Škorjanec, Max George and Katya Jones, Maisie Smith and Kai Widdrintgon, Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin and Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu.
John’s devastating news comes after The Sun revealed that he has Registered by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the big new West End musical this summer.
A source told us: “John will take center stage on the show.
“It was a dream job for him.
“He was really impressed with Serious and when Andrew discovered John had a great voice too, he reached out.
“It could be an incredible new start for him.”
John rose to fame in 2012 when he won the third series in Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off.
