Prominent Houston banking family donates $4 million to University of Houston’s innovative new Center for Minority Entrepreneurship

Houston, Texas– A prominent Houston family has just made a sizeable investment in the University of Houston’s CT Bauer College of Business. The Dakri family has pledged $4 million to support Bauer College’s new Center for Economic Inclusion, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and business development among minority communities.

With the donation, the CEI will now be known as the Musa and Khaleda Dakri Center for Economic Inclusion, according to a press release.
Specifically, this $4 million donation will establish an endowed chair to support the position of Chair/Director of the Center and an endowed chair to expand the Institute’s research priorities, including research into entrepreneurship in small businesses. The funds will also support research costs and research grants for students per UH.
