Prince Harry’s alleged ex-girlfriend is applauding the Duke for moving to the US to pursue his life with Meghan Markle.
Catherine Ommanney, 50, claimed to have had a short-lived “affair” with the royal in 2006, revealing it in a new interview with OK! that she thinks he and the Duchess look “very happy together”.
“I’m so proud that Harry had the courage to move to the States, and I think he really had to do that — to finally be free,” said Ommanney, a mother-of-three who starred in 2010’s Real Housewives of DC” said.
The London-based Bravo star said she had “nothing but respect” for Markle and has previously revealed in interviews that Harry, now 38, craved life away from the royal limelight.
Just last month, Ommanney detailed her “affair” with the then 21-year-old Prince of the Sun, reminiscing about the whirlwind romance they had when she was just 34. She gave the hot details of the pair’s relationship as the release date of Harry’s memoir drew near.
“I doubt I’ll be in Harry’s book as a prince can’t walk away with a 34-year-old mother of two,” she told The Sun. “It’s just not finished.”
At the time Ommanney had split from her ex-husband and Harry was in an on-going relationship with his ex Chelsy Davy, one of his few previous partners to appear in his tell-all book.
According to Ommanney, the two met at the Art Bar in London and then headed to a friend’s house for a nightcap, where they shared the “most incredible, passionate kiss” of their lives.
“Without being arrogant, I think we both really liked each other even though he was way too young for me,” she admitted. “If he wasn’t a king and maybe 10 years older, he would be my perfect man.”
Dubbed Spare, the Duke’s much-anticipated book is set to hit shelves on January 10 and is expected to contain never-before-told stories about Harry’s experiences, his and Meghan’s controversial decision to leave the royal family and the Duke’s rocky one Relationship to his brother through its 416 pages.
The couple’s highly-anticipated Netflix documentary, which will be released in two parts on December 8-15, will also explore their “high-profile love story.” The trailer, released earlier this month, shows aggressive paparazzi bombarding the couple and a distraught – and pregnant – Meghan tearing up at the stress of marrying royalty.
Various people in the trailer claim there has been a “war” against Meghan – fueled by “hate” and “race” – and that stories have been “planted” about her.
