I am delighted that the Queen has endorsed Camilla and will make Charles her Queen upon her departure.
She does a wonderful job. I am a huge fan and always have been.
Camilla was Charles’ first love. But he couldn’t marry her because he had too much work to do as heir to the throne and needed in the armed forces.
They had always been good friends but she couldn’t wait for him.
I first saw her in a cross country event with Charles 40 years ago. She always kept very calm and dignified.
When he announced engaged he said she would be called Princess Consort.
I asked if Charles would get down on one knee and she said, “Of course.” I took a picture of the ring.
The Queen was not present at the wedding but she was blessed at St George’s Chapel.
I remember when she came down the steps, Camilla looked absolutely gorgeous.
Charles is finally with the woman he loves.
Camilla has become a wonderful person to work with. Every photographer including royalty will tell you she is the sweetest, kindest person to work with.
I have never seen her in a bad mood or angry. The Duchess is easy to get along with. For me, she is always helpful. I was delighted to read the Queen’s speech that she wanted her to be Queen of Charles. In my opinion, that’s the right thing to do.
That’s what the Queen wants, that’s what the Prince wants and I think the nation will accept it.
But of course not always.
Diana was loved by many.
I remember the Duchess at a reception for The Archers. She came quietly to meet the stars. She was very worried. I also remember her first walk at the Sandringham flower show.
She was nervous again but everyone supported her and she was overwhelmed by the support.
Since then I have not heard a word of disparagement. I have seen her work tirelessly for charities and admire her work in literacy.
Although she doesn’t like to fly, she has supported Prince on all his overseas tours. They winced at each other’s jokes.
She excelled against the Queen and would be a great person Queen consort with Charles.
She’ll support him, lift his mood, and drag him out of the office when he’s overworked.
She is an ordinary person raised to this position because of her love for the Prince – but she is ordinary and aware of everyone’s problems.
She knows she was there to support Charles when he was King.
