The royal couple Prince Charles and Camilla will be guests in an episode of EastEnders in honor of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will appear in a special episode of the long-running soap opera, surprising the fictional residents of Albert Square at a street party.
Scenes featuring the pair were filmed in March when Charles and Camilla visited the show’s Elstree set.
The episode in question airs on June 2 ahead of the anniversary holiday weekend.
Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) share scenes with the couple and introduce them to other partygoers.
“I thought what amazing sports they’re just willing to do it,” Bright said. “I just thought, ‘Wow, they’ve never done anything like this.’
“They didn’t really know what to expect, I mean it must have been nerve wracking for them and totally out of their norm.”
Executive producer Chris Clenshaw added, per PA: “We are truly honored that both the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will be starring in one of these EastEnders‘ particularly special episodes.
“Linda Carter is obviously in her element and giddy with excitement when Her Royal Highnesses arrive at Walford, but it wasn’t just her, as it was for all of us EastEnders It was a very special day that will go deep EastEnders‘ Story.”
