President Joe Biden celebrates his 80th birthday

For the first time in US history there is an octogenarian in the Oval Office.
President Joe Biden turned 80 on Sunday, a milestone that comes as the aging commander and boss weighs the prospect of re-election amid a strong performance by Democrats in the midterm elections.
Should Biden successfully run for a second term, he would be 86 years old at the end of the term.
The slip-up-prone president has tried to stave off concerns about age-related declining mental and physical stamina, but has conceded his advanced age is a “legitimate” concern of voters.
“And I think the best way to make the judgment is to watch me. am i slower Do I have the same pace?” he said in an MSNBC interview last month.
An October poll found 64% of Americans were “concerned” about Biden’s mental health, up from 59% in August. The issue resonated down both sides of the aisle, with more than half of the Democrats polled voicing concerns about his age.
According to press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Biden wanted to celebrate his big day with a family brunch at the White House hosted by his wife Jill Biden, 71.
The shindig comes a day after his 28-year-old granddaughter Naomi Biden married fellow attorney Peter Neal, 25, at a White House ceremony.
By the time of Biden’s birth in 1942, the Allies had ended the Axis siege of Malta during World War II, and Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” was topping the charts.
