Premier League: Chris Sutton predicts Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal

Chris Sutton predicted the final Premier League this season’s table, tip Chelsea to win the title and Newcastle United Football Club to be relegated to the Championship.
After 13 games of the 2021-22 campaign, European champions Chelsea, domestic champions City of Manchester and recent title winners Liverpool created a gap of five points with the top of the table.
David Moyes‘West Ham are currently in fourth place, level with Arsenal recovering from a dismal start to the season to get ahead of the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham in north London.
Leicester City are in 10th place but only 6 points away from the Foxes and Leeds United are ranked 17th, the team is 3 points away from the relegation area, currently occupied by Burnley, Norwich City and Newcastle.
Sutton says ‘anything can happen’ between now and the end of the season but is confident Chelsea will lift the title and believes Newcastle will be relegated alongside Brentford and Leeds.
During the title race, Sutton told Daily mail: ‘At the start of the season I gave Manchester City the Premier League, but that came with an asterisk.
‘Given that they have completed the signing of Harry Kane, at the time, it seemed doable.

‘Now that a third of the season has passed, I’m leaning towards Chelsea, the team that signed Romelu Lukaku. But honestly, any of Chelsea, City and Liverpool could have won it.
‘Those three horses are on a different level than the others and I would be very surprised if any of these horses fell out of the race. For the neutrals, the prospect of them turning this into a ruin to a bitter end is exciting.
‘Even without a striker, Man City still has the ability to win the championship. Their performance at Chelsea in September was one of complete control.
“But I feel that this is going to be a special season for Thomas Tuchel and it will be the dark blue ribbons attached to that trophy in May.”
Sutton assisted Manchester United to secure a top four finish under Interim manager Ralf Rangnick and says Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could finish fifth after impressing in recent weeks.
“We did a three-horse race and brought back the rear, although they look like a donkey at the moment, but I’m saying Manchester United will finish fourth,” said Sutton.
‘The fact that Arsenal do not have a place in the European Cup this season is a big advantage for them. Mikel Arteta and his players have no excuse – no Thursday night games in Baku to hide behind.
‘They’re even going to have Arsene Wenger back at the club, and he knows a thing or two about finishing fourth.
“But Ralf Rangnick is a superb coach, a game visionary, the godfather of gegenpressing, and I believe United have the ability to sneak into Champions League spots at the expense of others. fellow Europeans Arsenal and West Ham.”
Newcastle United has was taken over by a Saudi-backed consortium last month, Magpies is currently said to be the richest club in world football.
But Sutton believes Eddie Howe’s side could be relegated to English football’s second tier next season and says fans across the country will ‘laugh’ at their demise.
He added: ‘I don’t think it’s too early to say Newcastle are entering ‘must win’ territory. They can try to keep going until the January window opens but even that will present its own problems.
‘They will bring in the mercenary crowd, because which big-name talents will agree to join a club that sits at the bottom of the Premier League?
Currently, Newcastle are having a championship with a talented pair of strikers Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin.
‘It’s great to have all the money in the world but if the XI you name on Saturday can’t make it to a show you’re on some creek with no paddles.
‘Eddie Howe’s men must see tonight’s game against Norwich as a must win, and the same goes for Burnley on Saturday.
‘They couldn’t get away from the fact that most fans around the country would laugh if Newcastle went down. That added even more pressure to Howe. ‘
Explaining why he expects Brentford and Leeds to join Newcastle in the Championship, Sutton said: ‘The former Norwich striker says his old club will survive. Horrible shock! But hiring Dean Smith gives them such an opportunity.
‘He’s an excellent coach who has put in good performances. With that in mind, I would say they can get themselves out of trouble.
‘The three clubs that I would say will be relegated to the Championship, with apologies, are Leeds, Newcastle and Brentford.
‘But it’s a very open race right now, both at the top of the Premier League and last. Anything can happen.’
