VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – Pope Francis on Sunday dismissed Russia’s claims that it was conducting a “special military operation” in Ukraine, saying the country was being ravaged by war.
“Rivers of blood and tears flow in Ukraine. This is not just a military operation, but a war leading to death, destruction and misery,” the Pope said in his weekly address to the crowd gathered in St. Peter’s Square.
