Police pursuit: Houston officer injured after falling on South Victory while chasing suspects with outstanding warrants, police say

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — A Houston police officer was injured in an accident while pursuing a suspect with outstanding warrants in north Houston, officials said.

The officer attempted to stop the driver but was instead led on a 15-minute chase.

Authorities said the officer crashed into a tree around 1:30 a.m. Friday in South Victory and Wheatly.

According to the authorities, the front of the patrol car was damaged and the airbags deployed.

We were told the officer was taken to hospital for a shoulder injury. Meanwhile, other officers arrested the suspect.
