Pokimane hits back at NSFW deepfake backers after Atrioc drama
Pokemon has reached out to those who think she shouldn’t be upset about her identity being taken and used in NSFW deepfakes. The comments come after Twitch streamer Atrioc was caught looking at deepfakes from other streamers, including Pokimane and Maya Higa, while alt-tabbing during one of his live streams. Atrioc has since apologized, stepped down from streaming and his role on OFFBRAND, and has pledged to help remove similar content across the web.
The deepfake drama has opened up a wider conversation about consenting and using a woman’s image for sexualization without her permission. Content creators like QTCinderella, who has also been featured on the adult site, have spoken out about her “pain” at the whole situation.
Pokimane also posted a simple but effective response on Twitter, but it seems that wasn’t enough for some followers. Now she has raised the issue again in a recent Twitch livestream.

Pokimane has blasted those who think she shouldn’t feel anger or irritation at NSFW deepfakes depicting her image because of content she’s posted in the past. Some followers said they believe photos and posts she’s uploaded to the internet mean she should “expect” that kind of reaction.
“What about Maya? [Higa]?” She asked. “[She] literally makes the healthiest content on earth and still deals with the exact same issues as me. It doesn’t matter what you post or what you do. Also, people can post whatever they want, and that still means you need their consent to do certain things, including sexualizing it, and then benefiting from it.”
