Pokemon Go Raid Bosses: March 2022 Schedule for Mega Raids, 5-Stars and More

Raids are an integral part of the Pokemon Go experience, and each month there’s a new batch of Pokemon ranging from common 1-star to rare 5-star Legendaries to battle and potentially catch. Here is the current lineup of raid bosses for March 2022.

March has been an exciting month for Pokemon Go players. There was a Community Day starring Sandshrew, many new Pokémon from the Alola region made their debut, and of course there’s a bunch of new Spotlight Hour stars to enjoy.

As for Raids, previously Trainers could fight (and catch) Tapu Koko and Therian Forme Tornadus, but now they can face another brand new Legendary in 5-Star Raid Battles, the Tapu Lele from the Alola region!

It also appears that from now on there will only be one Mega Evolved Pokemon appearing in Mega Raids at a time, so it may have just gotten harder to get the Mega Energy you need.

Pokemon Go Raid Boss Schedule March 2022

Niantic has unveiled the March raid schedule, and there are some exciting battles to be fought! Most notable is the debut of Tapu Koko, the Electro/Fairy-type Legendary who first appeared in Sun and Moon.

Here are the Pokémon you can find in Raids this month:

Mega Raids

5-star raids

3-star raids

1-star raids

Now that the The Lush Jungle event is here, the raid bosses have changed again, with plenty of Bug and Grass Pokemon including Cottonee, Tangela and Parasect available to fight and catch.

Mega Raids and 5-Star Raids follow the above schedule, but 1-Star and 3-Star Raids often change at random, especially during special events. Check back regularly for the latest raid opportunities!

If you’re new to raids or just need a little help, then look no further! We’ll be compiling guides below on how best to get the Mega and 5-star Raid Pokemon:

When are Raid Hours held?

Every week, niantic is hosting a special Raid Hour to give players a better chance of catching the current 5-Star Raid Pokémon. All gyms that contain raids will be 5-star, so that’s Tapu Lele now.

Raid hours happen every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, and you don’t have to worry about time zones as it’s always your local time. This is the perfect opportunity to go out and catch a Legendary.

What are Raid Battles in Pokemon Go?

Participating in Raid Battles gives you a chance to catch some rare Pokemon.

Raid battles happen when a boss Pokémon takes over a gym. You can find them by walking around local gyms and keeping an eye out for eggs about to hatch, or boss Pokémon that are part of a currently ongoing raid.

These Pokemon are very powerful, so it’s recommended that you team up with a few other trainers to secure a win. There are four tiers: 1-Star, 3-Star, 5-Star, and Mega Raids. The higher the level, the harder the fight.

However, Raid Battles are worth the time and effort to complete. Not only do you get special items, but you also get a chance to catch the Pokemon you beat. In the case of 5-star raids, these are Legendaries that you can’t get anywhere else.

How to get Raid Passes in Pokemon Go

Raid Passes
@PokemonGoApp

Raid Passes are required to participate in Raids.

In order to participate in a Raid Battle, you need a Raid Pass. You can Earn a Raid Pass every day by spinning the Photo Disc in every gym. If you go out, you can Buy a Premium Raid Pass From the store.

There are now Remote Raid Passes in Go as well. These are great for trainers who can’t leave the house, as they allow you to join any raid battle that’s on the Nearby screen or tapable in the map view.

Remote raid passes can be bought in the shop or occasionally received as a free gift.

How to catch Pokémon in Raid Battles

Pokemon Go Premier Balls
niantic

Premier Balls allow you to catch Legendary Pokemon.

Successfully defeating a raid boss gives you a chance to catch it. You get a set number of Premier Balls to use, but there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to catch them, especially if it’s a Legendary.

Here are some ways to increase the number of Premier Balls you receive:

  • deal a high level of damage to the raid boss.
  • Your Team deals a high amount of damage to the raid boss.
  • Gym control where the raid takes place.
  • Participation in raids with friends.

Remember that you can also use Razz Berries or even better Golden Razz Berries to help catch raid bosses. Receive Excellent throws or spinning curveballs also increase your chances.

Now you know all about raids and the creatures you can fight in arenas this month. It’s time to get out there and catch some Pokémon—and maybe even a Legendary one. Good luck, trainers!
