Piers Morgan made his long-awaited return to British television this morning on ITV’s morning chat show ‘Lorraine’.
It was Morgan’s first daytime appearance on ITV in over a year since his very abrupt departure from Good Morning Britain.
While his heated chat with Donald Trump has yet to air, the former President blasted Morgan as “very dishonest” for walking out of the interview in one recently shared promotional clip.
Trump stormed out of the room after being pressed for his claims that he lost the 2020 presidential election to voter fraud.
“We had a very heated debate over his repeated claim that he didn’t lose the last election,” said Morgan, who described himself as “a very frustrated liberal.”
“He has so far made up a story with no evidence that it was all fraudulent,” he added.
However, Morgan’s heated debate had repercussions. Shortly after the promotional clip of his interview with Trump aired, outspoken Republican and politician hopeful Caitlyn Jenner quickly pulled the plug on her appearance on Morgan’s new show.
“She [Jenner] has now read Donald Trump’s statement that this is a rigged promo and called me “disgusting” and canceled the interview,” Morgan added.
over on twitter, Jenner announced that she will no longer be appearing on Morgan’s new show, tweeting: “@piersmorgan just got my management to cancel my performance with you for this Wednesday due to your revolting misconduct today.”
Also during his brief stint on “Lorraine,” Morgan slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the way they handled it her departure from the royal family.
“I think most Brits now share my view of Meghan Markle and indeed Prince Harry, whose behavior remains extremely unfortunate,” Morgan said.
Morgan continued to punch Harry’s “ridiculous statement” that he is “protecting” the Queen. “All he’s done is make the Queen’s life a misery,” he added.
“I think they want to create a rival breakaway royal family, both of them and their children,” added the former Good Morning Britain host.
Morgan left the morning show, which he has co-hosted since 2015, after bosses urged him to apologize for his remarks about Markle.
Asked if he regrets leaving the show, Morgan, who slammed the “woke mob” for “deposing” him, said: “My only regret is that ITV tried to get me to leave me to apologize for something I really believed in… I didn’t believe it [Meghan] then I don’t believe her now.”
Lorraine then tried to bring focus to television regulator Ofcom’s decision, which ITV confirmed after a record number of complaints about his remarks.
“They said it was an appalling violation of my freedom of speech,” Morgan added. “I didn’t want to leave…I was told to apologize.”
Following his infamous on-screen meltdown last year, which saw him storm out of the ITV studio after an on-air spat with weatherman Alex Beresford, Morgan claimed he only left because he “decided not to give that idiot a go.” to keep listening,” referring to Beresford.
In true Morgan fashion, he jokingly stormed out of the studio after he finished his interview with Lorraine.
