AUSTIN (KXAN) – The Texas Secretary of State’s Office announced Friday that it is initiating Phase 2 of a forensic examination of the 2020 general election results in four counties.

The office is requiring all documents that county elections officials maintain for 22 months after each election in accordance with federal and state law.

According to a letter from Texas Secretary of State John B. Scott speaking to the election boards of four counties, counties are being asked to find documents in preparation for the spot inspection, which is scheduled to be scheduled for May. January.
