Pete Davidson shares emotional post ahead of Saturday Night Live departure: ‘I owe everyone at SNL my life’

Pete Davidson has said he “owes” the cast. Saturday night live “My Life” when he left the TV show.
The 28-year-old comedian joined the sketch comedy series in 2014, making him one of the youngest performers to have starred SNL‘s five decades of history.
Ahead of the season finale airing on Saturday (May 21), Davidson shared a farewell message SNL Author Dave Sirus’ Instagram, along with a clip of him celebrating completing his very first sketch on the show.
“This video was recorded 8 years ago,” Davidson wrote. “Jerrod [Carmichael] sent it to me last night and it got me super emotional in the best way. In the video I just got back from my very first update and sketch. It’s crazy to think that today will be my last.
“When I got the show I was 20 years old and had no idea what I was doing. I still don’t, but especially back then… I’ve had so much to share with this audience and literally grow up in front of your eyes. We’ve been through the good times and the bad, the happiest times and the darkest together.”
Davidson continued, “I owe a debt to Lorne Michaels and everyone else SNL my life. I’m so thankful and without her I wouldn’t be here. I appreciate that you guys always have my back and stand up for me, even if that wasn’t the popular belief.
“SNL is my home. I’m so happy and sad about tonight’s show. For so many reasons I can’t explain. I can’t wait to be back in a Mulaney musical number next year. – Resident youngster Pete Davidson.”
