Pelosi hits out at Trump’s ‘reckless’ push for arrest protests

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Saturday denounced Donald Trump’s “reckless” posts and urged supporters to protest his impeachment and possible arrest.

“No one is above the law, not even a former President of the United States,” he said The California congresswoman tweetedHours after Trump posted a letter in all caps to Truth Social telling his followers that he “WILL BE ARRESTED TUESDAY NEXT WEEK.”

“PROTEST, TAKE BACK OUR NATION!” Trump wrote.

“The former president’s announcement this morning is inconsiderate: he is doing this to stay in the news and stir up unrest among his supporters,” countered Pelosi.

Trump’s ‘target is acts of violence in his name’, California repeated Rep. Eric Swalwell. “And we have to be ready to protect ourselves against it.”

Pelosi led the Democrats’ pushback after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) sworn to open an “immediate” congressional investigation into what he called a “politically motivated prosecution” – Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into an alleged $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

“Kevin McCarthy once again plays the role of criminal defense attorney to shield Trump from accountability.” snarled Rep. Adam Schiff (D-California).
