PAUL Gascoigne was once again devastated after police dropped a probe on a raid at his home.

Former England starThe 54-year-old is said to have shed tears after learning his thief, who had taken £140,000 worth of belongings from his flat in September 2020, had sought to evade justice.

Former England star was had previously begged thieves to return a gold watch his late father had given him. John, as well as a Scottish Championship medal from Rangers FC.

He also has a £40,000 diamond-encrusted watch bought with Tottenham’s first pay package made during the raid.

Gazza said to Sunday people: “Losing those things breaks my heart.

“They have come from times in my life that I will never forget.

“Knowing that I will never get them back makes me very angry. Someone stole them because they wanted to make a quick buck, but they are priceless to me.”

The burglars happened while Gazza was away from home in Poole, Dorset.

And the footie legend believes crooks chose their chance after the ITV host Piers Morgan shared a selfie at a distance on social media with him.

Morgan took a picture of him in the background, while filming the talk show His Life Stories which featured the former player and actor Vinnie Jones.

“It was great to meet Gazza in the Life Story audience today, supporting his former partner Vinnie Jones,” he wrote.

A few hours later, Gazza returned home to discover her valuable possession was gone.

The star – who won 57 caps for England between 1988 and 1998 – reportedly lost five watches, two bracelets, three rings, diamond earrings, designer sunglasses worth £800 England and a genuine New York Police Department badge.

Gazza said he even had two steaks straight out of the freezer.

Dorset Police said today: “This matter is the subject of a detailed investigation but no arrests have been made.

“The investigation is closed but, as with any case, we will uncover any new lines of investigation should they emerge.”
