Overwatch 2 Developers Make Big Content Promise and Amid Update Concerns

The Overwatch 2 beta has finally been officially announced and the developers are making some big promises about ongoing content as the original game has struggled with updates since the sequel was announced.

Blizzard shocked Overwatch fans on March 10 by revealing that it had started a closed beta for others to join in April.

In the announcement, Overwatch Game Director Aaron Keller revealed a lot of new things Information about the beta and how things will change in the future in terms of updates and the plan to keep fans engaged.

Needless to say, there is a lot of skepticism about the new game and whether the team can deliver, but the developers take responsibility for their deafening silence.

Overwatch developers apologize for the lack of communication

“We realize we haven’t communicated well in keeping you updated, and quite frankly, we’ve let you down when it comes to delivering Overwatch content,” Keller said. “We’re listening and committed to more continuous updates around Overwatch 2.”

According to Keller, the new goal is to ensure Overwatch 2 is a “living game” to provide players with exciting content on a regular basis – something he admitted the team didn’t do with the original.

By decoupling PvE from the sequel, Overwatch 2’s PvP will be available to players earlier, which includes new features and a ping system.

The developers of Overwatch 2 promise big content changes

“Today’s transformation and approach allows us to consistently deliver PvP content to live play with the goal of far exceeding Overwatch’s previous content release rate and making live play the most dynamic and vibrant PvP experience,” added he added.

Additionally, Blizzard President Mike Ybarra reiterated the statement, saying, “We know our content and communications have fallen short of expectations. That will change in the future.”

As for new content, there will be more Overwatch 2 beta tests later in the year that will include new heroes, features, and maps.

Only time will tell if the developers can deliver on their promise and if the bugs caused by missing Overwatch updates will be fully fixed when the sequel’s closed beta begins. Overwatch 2 Developers Make Big Content Promise and Amid Update Concerns
