Orioles Sign “INF”, Reach Agreement With Santander, López & Fry – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – The Baltimore Orioles have signed former New York Yankees second player Rougned Odor, the team announced Tuesday night.

The team signed 27-year-old Odour to a one-year contract for the 2022 season. He made his Major League debut in May 2014 at the age of 20.

In 102 games against the Yankees last year, Odor hit .202 with 15 home runs and 39 RBIs. For the first time in his major league career, the 27-year-old spent time in third place, playing 247 turns there as a Yankee.

In the previous seven seasons with the Texas Rangers, Odor was a .237 success with 0.728 OPS (on a plus-slip basis).

The team reached an agreement Tuesday night with quarterback Anthony Santander and pitchers Jorge López and Paul Fry, and tendered contracts for first-timer Trey Mancini and pitchers. ball John Means and Tanner Scott ahead of baseball’s no-bid deadline.

Orioles have until January 14 to exchange salary figures with Mancini, Means and Scott or risk having to bring an arbitration hearing.

López signed a $1.5 million settlement to avoid arbitration, according to FanSided reporter Robert Murray.

MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reports Orioles and Santander have agreed to a $3.15 million contract.

And Fry is said to have signed for $850,000, according to MASN’s Roch Kubatko.

According to Dan Connolly, an Orioles writer for The Athletic, Odor is beloved in Baltimore for punching former Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista during a game in May 2016.

Orioles said they beat Richie Martin to reach Triple-A Norfolk. Once a Rule 5 pick, Martin appeared in only 69 matches between majors and minors and struggled to win.

In 37 games against Baltimore, the 26-year-old hit 0.235 with 1 home run and 8 RBIs.

After Martin was demoted, and lost recent abandonment requesting Lucius Fox and releasing the reliever Brooks Kriske, the Orioles have 37 players on their 40-man roster.
