The MIND simulated optical illusion appears to show circles of different colors with viewers encouraged to guess what color they all are.
The puzzle is a color illusion created by Professor David Novick of the University of Texas, who runs his own color illusion website.
Picture, titled Vivid Spheres 9consists of eight dots with lines through them that look like circles of different colors.
But the professor explained that the color of the dots didn’t really differ at all.
He wrote in an index of his illusion: “The spheres appear orange and blue but are actually identical, with the base colors being RGB 220, 255, 187.
“Scaling increases the effect.”
Another image created by Novick in 2018 called Confetti swept the internet, garnering thousands of retweets and likes.
Novick has previously explained that the “Munker” illusion occurs because of horizontal stripes of different colors and cuts across the circles, commonly known as the Munker-White illusion.
“The Munker illusion seems to be a function of the frame color, which tends to color the center area [shape]”he said.
“The apparent color of the center circle is a blend of the foreground frame color and the circle’s color.”
Novick regularly shares his optical illusions on Twitter and hosts them publicly website.
