Oprah Winfrey shocked at $100 holiday gift limit: ‘She was rocked’

Oprah Winfrey stunned fans Sunday when she appeared shocked that a man had a $100 price limit on a Christmas present for his mother.
In a video posted to TikTok that has been viewed more than 651,000 times, Winfrey, 68, recommended that Colin Drummond buy a jewelry box, which she included in her annual Christmas gift roundup. Drummond had told the former talk show star that he was looking for a present for his ailing mother.
“You know, one wonderful thing is that jewelry box I had on ‘Favorite Things,'” suggested Winfrey Drummond, who works as head of TMZ’s Washington office, according to LinkedIn.
“It’s too expensive for me,” he replied before Winfrey fired back.
“No, it’s not – it really isn’t,” she replied. “It’s about a hundred and a few or dollars.”
The content creator then replied that he was hoping to buy something less expensive and within his budget.
“Under $100,” said the TV personality, who appeared surprised, before Drummond explained that his mother favored sentimental gifts.
“Uhh. OK, then this is the perfect gift for your mother,” Winfrey replied. “You make a list of your top 10 reasons you love her and you make a beautiful card and it’s your top 10.”
While Drummond was obviously happy with her second suggestion — his video had an overlay caption that read “Oprah Just Slayed Mom Christmas Gift” — commenters weren’t particularly impressed with the idea, with some suggesting Winfrey wasn’t in touch financially get rid of that
“The verdict when he said $100 was too expensive,” one person said.
“She said oh poor you? I have a better gift for you,” someone added
“She was PROTECT that $100 was too expensive. ‘Do they even make things that cost less than $100,'” said another.
Others defended Winfrey’s testimony, saying she was wealthy, so $100 seemed cheap to her.
“Oprah is a billionaire but she made a $100 gift proposal…but everyone tells her she’s lost touch lol,” one person defended.
“Your second suggestion was incredibly well thought out,” one person pointed out.
“She’s thinking fast here, not prepared for this question so I think she did well,” one person wrote.
