One man is killed and another wounded in a shootout outside Bronx Hall
One man was killed in a shootout that injured a second man outside a banquet hall in the Bronx early Sunday, police officers said.
A group of people were standing outside Casa Bella Hall on East 187th Street at Hughes Avenue when someone shot into the crowd around 1:50 a.m., police officers said.
A 21-year-old was shot twice in the chest and a 22-year-old once in the buttocks.
Both ran to 2371 Hughes Avenue before collapsing, police officers said.
They were taken to St Barnabas Hospital but the younger man could not be saved.
The elderly man’s condition was stable.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, police said.
The dead man had no previous arrests.
The wounded man had a criminal record for gun possession, police said.
