One man is clinging to life in a shootout near NYPD headquarters: police officers
A 21-year-old man was clinging to life after being shot multiple times just steps from NYPD headquarters in lower Manhattan on Monday afternoon, police said.
The victim was found with gunshots to the chest and leg at around 2:50 p.m. at 15 Saint James Place – across from One Police Plaza.
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.
The suspected shooter was wearing blue pants and a green sweater, police said.
