One-legged NYC man accused of shoplifting at CVS arrested again

The long arm of the law caught up with a mad one-legged crook – again.
Hours after a judge released runaway suspect Eutano Bernard without bail in connection with a bizarre padlock and pee incident, cops had put the 41-year-old back in handcuffs, the NYPD said.
Bernard was held by his collar on Thursday night on the Upper East Side as he smashed a 68-year-old woman in the leg with one of his crutches at the East 68th Street-Hunter College subway station, NYPD’s 19th Precinct trumpeted in a tweet Friday.
“Well, that didn’t take long… The criminal who robbed a CVS, assaulted two employees and two cops – ARRESTED AGAIN! Officers rushed to the aid of a 67-year-old woman after the suspect attacked her and threatened to push her down the stairs – they quickly found and arrested the attacker again!”
Bernard first got into hot water when he allegedly grabbed grocery store workers and police officers in the face with a metal padlock on Wednesday before attempting to piss on officers on an Upper East Side sidewalk, authorities said. The pee offender was relieved when a judge released him without bail the next day, the NYPD said.

In Wednesday afternoon’s episode, Bernard pulled out his privates and urinated into the air as cops wrestled him to the ground near the CVS on Lexington Avenue near East 87th Street, where he is said to have just assaulted two workers and four locks and had stolen six red Bull drinks around 12:50 p.m
According to court records, the urinator allegedly hit workers in the face with the lock as they tried to thwart the $65 shoplifting. The stunned workers waved two officers for help, according to a criminal complaint.
Public enemy “Number 1” hit both responding police officers with the same padlock before being subdued on a sidewalk near the store, authorities said.

Bernard was released on bail last fall on another alleged assault, police said.
On Saturday afternoon, Bernard was behind bars in his latest arrest on Rikers Island, city Justice Department records show. A judge set bail at $30,000.
