Hollywood legend Olivia Newton-John has died after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 73 years old.
The actress’ husband, John Easterling, announced her death on her Facebook page on Monday afternoon.
“Dame Olivia Newton-John, 73, died peacefully this morning at her Southern California ranch surrounded by family and friends,” the post read.
“We ask everyone to respect the privacy of the family at this very difficult time.”
Mr Easterling continued, “Olivia has been a symbol of triumph and hope for over 30 years, sharing her journey with breast cancer.”
“Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicines continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund dedicated to research into plant medicines and cancer.”
Donations go to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund
Newton-John’s family has asked that donations be made to the cancer charity she founded, the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, in her honor.
After a long career in Hollywood, the actress and singer dedicated her life to advocating for cancer patients and survivors after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
She was first diagnosed in 1992 and beat the disease before being re-diagnosed in 2017.

The Hollywood icon was 73 years old.
