Oleksandr Usyk’s Training Preparations Affected By Anthony Joshua’s Fight As He Couldn’t Return To Ukraine Camp

OLEKSANDR USYK’S preparations for his rematch with Anthony Joshua were in disarray following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
WBA, WBO and IBF Heavyweight Champion was in the UK this week as negotiations continued with AJ over a day of battle and the venue for their upcoming match.
It is believed that the explosion is likely to happen in late May or June with Tottenham among those taking the lead to organize events.
In a blow to Usyk, Daily mail has announced that he will not be returning to his regular training base just outside Kiev.
That’s because Russia Invades Ukraine after Vladimir Putin declared war on their neighboring country.
By Usyk promoter Alex Krassyuk has told the Mail he has ‘no idea’ what The Cat will do with his preparations.
And he suggested to them that it was ‘impossible’ to go back to Ukraine for training.
Usyk can now move to Oxnard, California, where he and coaching partner Vasyl Lomachenko have camped in the past.
The former undisputed cruiser champion is back in Ukraine where he begged ‘no war’ with Russia.
Post videos on Instagram captioned ‘NO WAR’, Usyk wrote: “Some wrote to me that I had run away.
“I’m not, I’m at work but I’m back, I’m at home.
“Friends, we have to be united because it’s very difficult right now and I’m really touched and worried for our country and our people.
“Guys, we have to stop this war, all of us together.”
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn emphasized that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia will not affect Joshua’s rematch with Usyk.
