Oklahoma City Church cancels Sunday service due to COVID-19 cases

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – A prominent Oklahoma City church is canceling service this coming Sunday because of the COVID-19 surge caused by the Omicron variant.
Father Randy Shrauner, Executive Minister of the Church of the Servant, 14343 N. MacArthur Blvd., sent a message to church members said that three full-time employees, half of the worship group, and several Sunday volunteers all tested positive for COVID recently.
“Combining the situation is the close exposure of the rest of the programming staff, to the virulence of the Omicron variant, which inevitably leads to additional positive diagnoses,” said Shrauner.
Church leaders say the health and well-being of the congregation and staff is of paramount concern.
Shrauner said: “Pray for all who are dealing with the virus. “This season will pass, but sadly, that day is not yet today.”
