Ohio’s top doctor talks about COVID amid rising cases

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WJW) – Ohio’s top doctor will update the public on Thursday on the state’s struggle effort COVID-19.
Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Director Bruce Vanderhoff, MD, MBA, will hold a press conference with Aimee O’Reilly, Pharm.D., O’Reilly Family Pharmacy and Steven Gordon, MD, President, Preventive Medicine Infectious Cleveland Clinic.
The announced by the state 10,588 new cases, 486 hospitalizations and 50 ICU admissions on Wednesday in the previous 24 hours.
840 of them were due to lab reporting delays.
The Ohio Hospital Association said 4,735 are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
1 out of 5 patients.
1,177 of them are in the ICU.
ODH also reports that a new omicron variant has now been identified in Cleveland, Ohio Center and Tuscarawas in the last week.
