Ohio couple delivers FedEx packages after driver dumps them

A kind-hearted Ohio couple who saw a delivery driver picking up packages on Black Friday picked them up and spent hours personally delivering them to their intended recipients.
Tristen Raisch and Zachary Arnwine told local media they became suspicious when they saw a FedEx truck pull up to the side of the road with its emergency lights on and the driver appeared to throw things out of it.
“He had the door wide open and we yelled at him a bit,” Raisch told WLWT5 with a smile.
When the couple turned around on Ohio State Route 123, the driver was already gone. “We stopped where he was – and there were packages everywhere,” Arnwine told WKRC, calling it “terrible”.
The couple explained how the deliveries included kitchen utensils and even flowers.
“That broke my heart,” Raisch said, suggesting that it could even be “funeral flowers” — for all the delivery driver knew.
They considered calling the police but feared it would mean an even longer delay for the packages to finally reach their destination.

“So we decided to take it on [ourselves] and deliver,” said Arnwine – adding that they spent hours driving around suburban Dayton to make sure the packages got to their waiting recipients.
“I called every number on every box and told them I had their package — and I’ll have it delivered to their door,” he told local outlets, saying he “thought that was the thing.”
“They were amazed,” Arnwine said of the recipients who received his deliveries, describing how people “kept thanking me so much.”
One of them, Royce Charbeneau, told WKRC he almost didn’t take Arnwine’s call and initially “didn’t believe” the unexpected story.

“But after meeting Zach and speaking to him in person, I believed it,” he said, adding that he was thrilled to get one of the two packages he was expecting, although the other is still missing.
While Arnwine is happy to help with deliveries, he hopes the driver gets caught before he can offload any more packages “because that’s wrong for this time of year”.
Raisch said they would do the same thing again, “would want someone else to do it too”.
FedEx confirmed to The Post on Tuesday that the delivery giant is “researching this matter and will take appropriate action.
“The security of our customers’ shipments is our top priority and this reported behavior goes against our commitment to handle millions of customers’ packages with the utmost care every day,” a spokesman said.
