Officials inspect McDonald’s after reports of drugged food in Franklin County

LOUISBURG, NC (WNCN) — Franklin County officials said Thursday night they were investigating a Louisburg McDonald’s after there were multiple reports of someone claiming the food at the restaurant was “drugged” earlier this week.

Health Department officials received multiple calls Thursday about Monday’s report at Louisburg McDonald’s, according to a press release from Franklin County Health Director Scott S. LaVigne.

Officials from the county’s food, shelter and sanitation program were dispatched to investigate the complaint at the restaurant at 329 S. Bickett Blvd. to investigate, the press release said.

District inspectors found “a few minor issues” during a hygiene inspection, but “nothing that could be linked to this particular complaint,” the press release said.

Health officials said they had completed their investigation and all other matters related to the complaint were being handled by law enforcement.

The press release states that the results of Thursday’s inspection will soon be available at this link.
